On 24 June 2026, the Puéchabon site welcomed the SituFeces research team, led by Quentin Gabriac, Philippe Hinsinger and François-Xavier Joly.
The project investigates how soil detritivores transform leaf litter into faecal pellets in Mediterranean ecosystems.
Field sampling at Puéchabon will help characterise detritivore communities and quantify the quantity and quality of faeces produced throughout the year.
The project combines field observations and laboratory experiments to better understand the contribution of detritivores to litter decomposition and soil organic matter formation.
